Lock a power point document

ASK

  • How do you lock a power point document? I want my document to be protected and so no one can modify it.

Answer

So, "lock a power point document" means "protect a powerpoint document".

I know three ways to prevent your powerpoint files from modifying by others.

Method 1: Add password in PowerPoint 2010.
1. Select the “File” tab and choose “Save As”.
2. In the pop up “Save As” dialog box, click the “Tools” drop down menu and choose “General Options”.
3. In the “General Options” dialog box, you can add two kinds of passwords: password to open or password to modify.
4. Click“OK” to apply the changes. When you open the encrypted PowerPoint presentation again, you will be asked to enter the password.

Method 2: Save PowerPoint as PDF.
Use Free PowerPoint to PDF Converter to convert powerpoint to pdf files which can’t be modified.

Method 3: Save PowerPoint as WMV video format
Use Moyea PowerPoint to Video Converter to convert powerpoint to video. This method can not only potect your powerpoint files, but also could you freely watching PPT on Smartphones or tablets, or uploading to websites like YouTube.
