Hey, middle school students and their dear mothers, summer break is over in several days. Are you already for the new school year? Check if these things below are in your bags now.
  • No.2 pencils
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Colored pencils
  • Pencil sharpener (hand-held with a top to collect shavings)
  • A large pink eraser
  • Ballpoint pens (Get a few red ink ones too, because some teachers have students do peer editing.)
  • Highlighters
  • Spiral-bound or composition notebooks
  • Loose-leaf notebook paper (Teachers can be picky about paper. Some middle schools ask that students use the college-ruled variety.)
  • A ruler with English and metric measurements.
Besides these necessary things in the supplies list, get your heart ready for the new term. Here are some tips middle school students and parents would pay attentions on. They will help children be familiar with school days quickly.
  • Study habits. After a long break from school, even the good study habits you developed during the previous term will be forgotten. Don't worry, and it's common. With the new school days pass, you will pick them up quickly.
  • Subject skills. Simply spending a few hours a week during the summer, practicing the equations you learned can help you increase the retention of Math skills. Reading only a few hours a week during the summer can help elementary maintain reading skills. So do grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.
  • School activities. Space between students this age and parents are been grown by students. They are so happy in their summer holidays that possible to forget telling parents which activity they want to sign up. So, parents need to communicate with them more and more often.
  • Middle school children often forget information relating to new subjects they have been introduced to during the previous school year. Some small quizzes involving subjects will be better.
  • Encourage. Children often consider subjects as difficult things. After all, summer if full of funny. Before the new school year, encrourge them, such as their strengths, spend more time on challenging subjects they scare. These can help them improve greatly.
  • Safety rules. Remind them after summer break, and that will help them.
  • The basic needs for the new school year. School supplies list, text books, lunch money, back packs, jackets, umbrellas, and so on.
